Viagra is a drug which is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It is actually used by men. It relaxes muscles and also increases the flow of blood to specific areas of a man’s body. One is advised not to take Viagra while taking some drugs such as Revatio without an advice from a medical officer.
Viagra is sold in chemists or even in hospitals. It should be prescribed by a doctor just as other drugs are. It should be strictly used by adults who are healthy.
It is still advisable for a person not to take Viagra while taking some nitrate drugs for chest pains or heart problems.
Viagra is used in the following ways;
The dosage should be of 50 mg which should be orally taken once per day before one hour of prior sexual activity.
It should be taken only when needed, 30 minutes to 1 hour before having any sexual activity. A man can also take it 4 hours before having sex. It should not be taken more than once per day because it can result to some bad problems in the body.
Viagra actually helps in having an erection when sexual stimulations occur but one pill cannot help in the occurring of an erection. However, one is advised to follow doctor’s instructions carefully.
When overdosed, it is advisable for one to seek emergency medical attention because, as stated before, it can be fatal.
While taking Viagra, one should avoid taking alcohol because it can lead to negative side effects. Some juices like grapefruit juice can interrupt with the functioning of Viagra and lead to unwanted side effects. Grapefruit products should be avoided while taking Viagra.
Viagra’s side effects include; difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and throat. The side effects are signs of an allergic reaction to Viagra which can lead to death.
One should stop taking Viagra and get medical help when;
Having heart attack symptoms like pain in the chest or pressure, spread of pain to the jaws or shoulder, nausea and sweating.
Having some changes in vision or even loosing vision suddenly.
Experiencing pains during erection or when it lasts for more than 4 hours because prolonged erection can damage the penis.
Viagra’s common side effects are;
- Warmth that is not normal
- Headache and dizziness
- Changes in color vision
- Pain in the muscles and back
