Viagra is a treatment for erectile dysfunction and impotence in male’s. The way that it works is that it increases the blood flow to the penis which will result in a erection when the male is aroused. The only ingredient in Viagra is called sildenafil, there are only 25mg to 100mg per tablet. There are side effects when male’s use Viagra, but the effects are different from male to male. The tablet will take effect in most people after 30 minutes. Taking Viagra alone will not work by itself the person needs some sort of sexual stimulation for it to take effect.
The time for Viagra to fully end will depend on the person. It can work up 5 hours but has been know to end in 2-3 hours. Certain things can attribute to how long it can last, for example age, diet, alcohol, dosage, health, and drug interactions are all things that contribute to how long Viagra can last. It does not last more then 4 hours in your body due to the normal break down in your body. Be sure to always follow the recommended dosage from your doctor in order to avoid any negative side effects.
Before you take Viagra be sure to consult your doctor if have any medical problems for example, Heart disease, recent history of a heart attack, High or Low blood pressure, Etc. Taking Viagra can also cause sudden vision loss in a small amount of people. Diabetes, high cholesterol, etc have been known to be the main benefactors in sudden vision loss. It is also not known to hurt any unborn babies but you must speak with your doctor if you are pregnant or if you have plans to have baby just in case.
There is some rare cases when taking Viagra with other medication it can cause the person to develop a condition called priapism it is a very serious condition that can be very painful and very damaging to the penis. priapism happens when a erection has lasted for more then 4 hours. You must seek medical attention if this does happen otherwise it will have a long lasting affect on your penis. If you end up breaking out in hives or have difficulty breathing you must seek medical attention as fast as you can. You also must stop taking Viagra and get to a hospital if you have a heart attack, a sudden change to your vision, sudden hearing loss, irregular heartbeat, any sort of swelling or shortness of breath, and seizures, etc. The common side effects of Viagra are as follow flushing, headache and or dizziness, abnormal vision, stuffy nose, any kind of muscle pain, and an upset stomach. There maybe more side effects that people are not aware of.
You should avoid drinking alcohol when you are taking Viagra. You also must stop taking Viagra if you are drinking grapefruit or grapefruit juice it has been known to lead to some unwanted side effects.Do not use any other medicine that is used to treat impotence. There is other types of drugs that will affect Viagra. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking any anti-biotic, anti-fungal, medicine for Hiv/Aids, or a treatment for high blood pressure. Of course there is always a chance that more medicines could affect it as well so you need to talk to a doctor if you are on any other kind of medicine.
