I take Generic Doxycycline antibiotic for Lyme disease and now already 3 days,so far no complaint occurred.However I adhere to the guidelines,I take Pantozol for stomach protection and take my tablets at the food with much liquid.(also drink about 3 litres of the day distributed min.) I drink no milk with the Doxycycline antibiotic ,and eat no milk products.I fell very fine and day to day it is better.I can recommend to every one the Doxycycline antibiotic .I haven´t any problems all the days wen i take Doxycycline antibiotic. Doxycycline antibiotic should either regularly in the morning with breakfast or simultaneously with another meal with plenty of fluids ( no milk or milk products ) , eg be taken a glass of water . The intake during a meal can reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal disorders . To avoid application failure , take the tablets with plenty of fluid always in an upright position ( sitting or standing) . About 10 to 15 minutes after taking plenty of fluid then drink again ! Doxycycline hyclate capsules should be used to prevent ulcers in the esophageal mucosa with plenty of water ( no milk) and are taken in the upright position or immediately before going to bed .

How long should you use doxycycline ? The duration of treatment depends on the type , severity and course of the disease . Doxycycline is generally taken in acute infections 5-21 days. Your doctor will determine the appropriate duration of treatment ( see also specific dosage recommendations ) . If proven sensitivity in infections with beta – hemolytic streptococci are treated , this must be done at least 10 days to prevent late complications ( such . As rheumatic fever or glomerulonephritis ) .

Young people ( and children over 8 years ) over 50 kg body weight and adults under 70 kg body weight take on the first day 200 mg doxycycline ( 2 tablets , film-coated tablets , dragees or capsules equivalent to 200 mg doxycycline ) and on the following days each 100 mg of doxycycline ( 1 tablet , film-coated tablet , coated tablet or capsule equivalent to 100 mg doxycycline ) a . In granules , tablets or drinking effervescent tablet is just to proceed . Adults with more than 70 kg body weight daily take one 200 mg doxycycline , so far otherwise.
